Magnolia is a small team working on one hard problem at the analog-digital interface. The founders studied EECS at MIT, and this technology grew out of Dr. Urban's work on the brain-machine interface in his postdoctoral work.

Luke leads the company's circuit theory and design efforts. Luke received his B.S. and M.Eng. from MIT and his Ph.D. from Caltech. He previously applied signal processing and machine learning in the field of neural interfaces.

Richard leads the company's commercial and operational efforts. Richard is an Attorney in Massachusetts and a Solicitor in England & Wales. He previously worked in private equity law.

Boris Murmann

Boris Murmann

Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering

Boris Murmann is a Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Hawai'i, Mānoa. From 2004 to 2023 he served as a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. Since 2004, Dr. Murmann has worked as a consultant with numerous Silicon Valley companies. His research interests are in the area of mixed-signal integrated circuit design, including sensor interfaces, A/D and D/A conversion, high-speed communication links, embedded machine learning (tinyML), design methodology, as well as open-source chip design. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits.

Ian Galton

Ian Galton

Distinguished Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering

Ian Galton is a Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering at UCSD, where he holds the “Skyworks Endowed Chair in High Performance Communications Devices and Circuits.” He specializes in the invention, analysis, and IC implementation of critical communication system blocks. His research group has developed many techniques that enable improved performance in mixed-signal and radio frequency integrated circuits, now widely deployed in mobile telephones.

Dr. Galton has received numerous awards recognizing his teaching and research. He is an IEEE Fellow and has served that body in multiple roles, including Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Analog and Digital Signal Processing. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Galton consults at semiconductor companies and has served on a corporate board and several corporate Technical Advisory Boards.

David Dwelley

David Dwelley

Former CTO, Maxim Integrated

David Dwelley was born in Boston, MA, in 1965. He received the BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 1986. He worked at Linear Technology in Milpitas, CA from 1988 to 2016, working in variety of technical and management roles. From 2017 to 2022 he was Chief Technology Officer at Maxim Integrated Products in San Jose, CA. He retired in 2022. Mr. Dwelley was a member of the IEEE-Standards Association from 2001 to 2014, and chaired the 802.3bt working group. He holds 30 patents.
